Many years ago, I was riding my bike home from work in Las Vegas. I lived out in a residential area, far away from the lights of the strip.
This was an especially dark night, right around midnight. The night sky was full of stars, and not a car was on the road anywhere around me.
I was singing a worship song, just me. One voice in the darkness. And I was thinking, what is one voice, what does one voice do, or mean in the grand scheme of things?
As I was riding and singing, I began to see my voice as a light rising up from me to the heavens. And as I looked around, I could see other voices, lights, rising up, one here, one there, over there another. My point of view began to move back and up until I could see all across the city, one voice rising up, and another, and another. All of these voices rising up and joined together in the heavens until their light filled the sky like the stars.
Today, I speak. One voice. I am neither politically savvy, nor am I a biblical scholar. I am just a person, a woman, who has walked with God for more than 40 years. I like to think that we have a good relationship. We talk daily. I try to live a life that is pleasing to Him.
It is 2026, early days still.
And it’s hard. It’s hard to know…anything.
In this space, I will speak. I will bear witness to what is happening. And I will walk through the struggles that I have walking in these times…as I try to come to answers in myself as to how a Christian should be, well, a Christian. A follower of Christ.
I invite you to join me. And as we question, and pray, and think, and speak, may your one voice join with my one voice until we light up the darkness again.
